The Benefits of Healthy School Lunches and Snacks

At Royal Academy, healthy nutrition and academic success go hand in hand. Building positive relationships with food—and with each other—creates a respectful, collaborative, and caring community. We encourage children to make healthy choices, helping them develop lifelong habits of wellness and self-care.

We understand that busy families don’t always have time to prepare home-cooked meals. Since children consume nearly one-third of their daily calories at midday, our academy provides a balanced snack and lunch program guided by the Canadian Food Guide. Each program includes:

  • A nutritious morning snack
  • A hot, wholesome lunch
  • An energizing afternoon snack

Our on-site commercial kitchen is led by a dedicated chef who prepares meals with fresh, nourishing ingredients. Weekly menus are posted on the parent board to help families coordinate meal planning at home. If your child may not enjoy a specific menu item, parents are always welcome to send an alternative meal from home.

To ensure the safety of all children, Royal Academy is a Nut-Free Centre.
